Elite Welding & Fabrication: The Cleburne Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Elite-compatible welding and fabrication parts across Cleburne, with most welded gate repairs running $180 to $420 installed. We carry hinges, weld-on brackets, gate frame repair plates, and latch hardware on the truck, so the person standing in your driveway can usually finish the job the same day. The call usually starts the same way: the gate still opens, but it drags low on the latch side, or you can see daylight through a crack in the weld at the hinge, or the post itself has started leaning where the weight of a 16-foot gate has been pulling on it for twenty Texas summers.

Call (817) 961-9404

We’re an independent gate company, not affiliated with Elite, and we’ve been welding gates in Johnson County for over 42 years. Where Elite parts are the right call, we use them. Where a heavier aftermarket bracket or a local weld repair will outlast the original, we’ll say so and price it plainly before any work starts.

Which Elite Models This Applies To

Elite gate openers are the motor side of the equation, but the brand name matters when we’re matching weld-on hardware that has to work with their swing-arm and slide-track geometry. The parts an Elite SL3000 owner needs at the post are different from what an Elite CSW200 or a heavier-duty Elite Mirage slide gate demands. The mounting plate bolt pattern, the height of the clevis pin above grade, and the thickness of the original gate frame all play into what we weld on.

The practical way to identify what you have: look at the cover on the operator itself. Elite stamps the model number on a silver label inside the cover or on the underside of the chassis. The series matters less than three measurements we’ll take on site: the post size, the gate frame wall thickness, and the distance from the hinge centerline to the outer edge of the gate. On Elite swing systems in particular, a weld-on hinge that worked fine on an 8-foot gate will fail early on a 14-foot gate if it isn’t upsized. That’s the compatibility gotcha we see most often in Cleburne, especially on older ranch entrances where the gate was upgraded to a heavier tube frame but the original hinges were left in place. If you want OEM Elite hardware, we can order it. If you want a stronger local fabrication that fits the same geometry, we can usually build it in the truck or back at the shop and have it installed within a few days.

Signs Your Elite Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

  • The gate scrapes or drags on the latch side. This usually means the top hinge weld is stretching or the post bracket has shifted. The gate still opens, but every cycle is putting more load on the opener motor than it was ever built to handle.
  • You can see rust bleeding from a weld joint. On a Texas gate, this is rarely cosmetic. Moisture gets into the crack, the steel expands and contracts, and the crack grows a little every season. By the time the rust shows through the paint, the weld has been failing for months.
  • The gate is loose at the hinge but the bolts look tight. That tells us the hinge barrel itself is worn or the weld has broken underneath the bracket. Tightening the bolts won’t help; the metal has already moved.
  • The gate post is leaning toward the driveway. The weld is intact and the hinge is fine, but the post is losing its fight with the weight of the gate. This is a post-root problem, and welding alone won’t fix it. The post needs to be straightened and braced or reset.
  • The Elite opener is throwing a force or obstruction error on a gate that used to move fine. The motor is telling you the gate is harder to move than it should be. Nine times out of ten in Cleburne, that extra resistance is a failing hinge or a cracked weld, not a motor problem.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For most Elite gate welding and fabrication work in Cleburne, installed prices land in the $180 to $420 range. A single weld-on hinge replacement with the existing bracket reused starts around $180 to $250. Rebuilding a gate frame corner or installing a set of heavier upgraded hinges on a full-size swing gate runs $300 to $420 when we’re on site with the welder and the steel already on the truck. Post straightening and bracing adds to the job when it’s needed, and we’ll price that before we touch it.

The price you get is the price you pay. We settle the number before any welding starts, and it includes labor, materials, cleanup, and the 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If a weld or bracket we installed fails within 90 days, we come back and make it right. No charge, no argument, no paperwork. The quote also includes grinding the old weld clean and painting the repaired area so it doesn’t rust through in the first rain.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner with a good eye and a level can do one useful thing before calling: check whether the gate is visibly out of square and whether the hinge bolts are tight. If the bolts are loose, snugging them is reasonable. If the weld itself is cracked or the hinge barrel has play, that is where we recommend stopping.

Welding a gate in place means working with hot steel near existing wiring from your Elite opener, often in tight quarters at the post. A bad weld on a moving gate can let go without warning, and a gate that size carries enough weight to hurt someone. The people who call us after a DIY weld repair usually spend more than the original fix would have cost, because we have to cut out the bad weld before we can do it right. If the gate is dragging, cracked, or leaning, call (817) 961-9404. We’ll send a Cleburne technician who welds gates for a living, and we’ll give you a straight price before the torch lights.
